Take action until professionals arrive

Angel Rivera at the Florida Bed Bug Experts called recently to share with me about his being interviewed by a Florida TV station about the bed bug infestation at the local library. As Angel and I spoke, he shared a tip to mitigate the pestering bed bugs can cause until professional heat treatment can arrive. In a new, 32oz spray bottle, mix 50% clean water and 50% isopropyl rubbing alcohol with 50 drops of lavender oil. He suggests spraying beds, carpeting, and seating areas every day until treatment. The scent of lavender will repel the bugs and the combination of diluted alcohol and lavender will kill those insects that come in contact with them.
After spraying the infested area, Angel recommends anyone in such a situation shower to eliminate any bugs on their person. After the hot shower, Angel directs clients to spray the lavender mixture all over their body (don’t get any in the eyes!)... not only will they smell great, but the bugs will stay away from the scent.
This is a video of one of Angel’s first heat treatments with GreenTech Heat equipment.
