How to kill bed bugs FAST... at least according to YouTube

I couldn’t sleep last night, so I did what any self-respecting person would do... I watched YouTube. After several deep, thought-provoking videos, I decided to peruse something more light-hearted and fun. I quickly stumbled across what most people think is my favorite topic: bed bugs.

The video also shares that bed bugs can be found throughout our homes— in sofas, couches, chairs, and carpeting, not just in your bed.

I agree with the video that you don’t have to resort to using toxic chemicals to eliminate a bed bug infestation. I struggle with the idea that killing bed bugs and eliminating your bed bug infestation with baking soda will be “FAST”. Baking soda is a desiccant and aggravator that only works after bed bugs scurry across the powder. As such, baking soda takes time to work, requiring time for contact, and then requiring time for the baking soda to scratch their hard shells and dry out the bed bugs. When you and your family are being bitten every night, time is a luxury you just don’t have.

According to the video, you need to get the baking soda everywhere the bed bugs could be. You can paint it on mattress seams, sprinkle it on furniture, and dust it around the floor. It’s up to you to know where to apply the baking soda... and hope you get it everywhere the bed bugs harbor.

Then you wait... and then you vacuum up the baking soda every few days and start again... “until your infestation is gone”. Wasn’t this supposed to be fast?!
